Dep of State Assistant Secretary: US to continue supporting reforms in Armenia

YEREVAN, June 11. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with James O'Brien, the US Department of State Assistant Secretary on European and Eurasian Affairs, in Yerevan, the press service of the Armenian government reported on Tuesday./pp

Pashinyan stressed the importance of the Armenia-US strategic dialogue and said he was certain it would boost further development of cooperation. He also underlined that the US has consistently supported democratic reforms in Armenia./pp

The Prime Minister noted that the agreements made during the Armenia-US meeting in Brussels in May should be effectively implemented./pp

O'Brien said the US authorities will continue supporting the reforms that are being introduced by the Armenian government./pp

The parties also touched upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the border delimitation, the Alma-Ata Protocol, and Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace project./pp

Additionally, Pashinyan informed O’Brien that the government had adopted a housing program for refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, and stressed that this program requires support from international partners.nbsp;/p br br
