Minister of Territorial Administration presents the scale of destruction in the flooded areas

YEREVAN, 12 June. /ARKA/. Twenty-four bridges were damaged as a result of the floods that occurred in late May in northern Armenia, 16 of which are currently unfit for further use, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan said on Wednesday./pp

Water supply systems were seriously damaged, he said. Karkop village and Akhtala station have switched to partial water supply, while water supply in the resort town of Dilijan has been rationed./pp

Speaking at the session of the National Assembly, the Minister noted that 19 gas pipelines were also damaged, leaving about 19,000 people without gas./pp

According to him, the electricity supply system has also been damaged. Seventeen thousand subscribers were left without electricity on the first day after the flooding. Now the people who have no electricity are very few. They are mostly residents of the ground floors of houses in Karkop. A lot of work is currently being done to inventory the damage. As of today, damage to 921 households have been evaluated. We have 843 damaged or collapsed buildings. 150 cars have been damaged or flooded,’ Sanosyan said. -0-/p
