YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan within one month, the country’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at a press conference in Lithuanian capital Vilnius on Thursday.

“I showed my Lithuanian counterpart our efforts to normalize relationships with our neighbors and to establish long-term peace in the South Caucasus. As you know, we are in the process of delimiting the border with Azerbaijan based on the 1991 Alma-Ata Protocol,” he said.

Mirzoyan stated he hopes that this process would continue as it is vitally important for future peace.

“It is also vitally important to finalize the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We have sent some very insightful propositions to the Azerbaijani side, and we are ready to sign the treaty within one month,” Mirzoyan stressed.

There was, however, no response from Baku, he added.

“Moreover, Azerbaijan keeps making new demands, which question their readiness to achieve peace,” he said.
