YEREVAN, July 26. /ARKA/. The rumors that Armenia signed a contract to acquire $500 million worth of weapons from Iran are not true, Aram Torosyan, the Spokesperson for Armenia’s Defense Ministry, told state news agency Armenpress on Friday.

The Iranian ambassador to Armenia also denied the rumors.

Iran International, a Persian-language TV channel based in the United Kingdom, claimed on Wednesday, citing its own unnamed sources, that Armenia and Iran had signed a secret deal that would have allegedly supplied Yerevan with $500 million worth of weapons, mainly kamikaze drones.
