Казахстанский боец Асу Алмабаев (20-2) продолжает радовать своих болельщиков хорошими новостями. В октябре 30-летнего файтера наилегчайшего веса UFC ждет крутой поединок за право оказаться в топ-10 дивизиона. Корреспондент Vesti.kz рассказывает об этом подробнее.

20 октября в Лас-Вегасе (Невада, США) Алмабаев, занимающий 15-е место в рейтинге наилегчайшего веса, встретится с 31-летним бразильцем Матеусом Николау (19-4-1), замыкающим топ-10.

Казахстанец идет на серии из 16 побед кряду. В UFC он дебютировал в августе прошлого года, добыв за это время три победы. Выходит, что за 14 месяцев Асу проведет уже четвертый поединок в лучшей лиге мира.

В апреле 2023-го он проиграл нокаутом в первом раунде американцу Брэндону Ройвалу. Ровно спустя год, в апреле этого года, он вновь проиграл нокаутом - во втором раунде его вырубил другой американец Алекс Перес. Сейчас обидчики Николау занимают первую и седьмую строчки в рейтинге соответственно.

После двух подряд "глухих" нокаутов выходить на бой против проспекта, идущего на серии из 16 побед - это что-то невероятное. Остается поаплодировать менеджерам Алмабаева из компании First Round Management (они же ведут дела таких бойцов, как Джон Джонс и Илия Топурия), которые выбили для своего спортсмена такой умный стратегический бой. В случае победы над ним казахстанец практически точно окажется в десятке сильнейших.

И как тут не вспомнить, что в этом году чемпион наилегчайшего веса бразилец Алешандре Пантожа (28-5) защищал свой пояс против десятого номера (на тот момент) рейтинга австралийца Стива Эрцега (12-2). В итоге Пантожа выиграл единогласным решением по итогам пяти раундов.

К чему мы это? К тому, что, попав в топ-10, любой боец, идущий на хорошей серии, может получить титульный шанс. По крайней мере, в весовой категории до 57 килограммов. Поэтому есть небольшая доля вероятности, по которой Алмабаев выйдет на титульный бой в случае победы над Матеусом. Конечно, для этого многое должно совпасть, однако тот же Эрцег добрался до титульника, выиграв всего три боя в UFC, два из которых решением. А чем хуже Алмабаев? Правильно, ничем.

В ноябре 2015-го он, будучи 22-летним проспектом с рекордом 10-1-1, дебютировал в лучшей лиге мира, одержав победу сабмишеном. Затем у него была победа в шоу The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) и еще один успех на рейтинговом турнире. В июле 2018-го Николау был нокаутировал Дастином Ортизом, а в начале следующего года стало известно об увольнении бойца из UFC.

В 2019 году Матеус провел два боя, одержав победы в лигах Future FC и BRAVE CF. В 2020-м он планировал дальше выступать в BRAVE, но из-за пандемии ситуация изменилась. Как ни странно, это благополучно сказалось на его будущем.

В 2021-м он был переподписан в UFC. В марте он встретился с Манелом Капе и победил его раздельным решением судей. Многие не согласились с этим решением, а 21 из 21 авторитетных представителей СМИ насчитали победу Капе. С такого скандала начался второй путь Николау в UFC.
