Electricity generation in Armenia increases by 2.2% in January-June to 4.5 billion kWh

YEREVAN, 7 August. /ARKA/. Electricity production in Armenia in the first half of 2024 upped 2.2% year-on-year to over 4.5 billion kWh, the National Statistical Committee reported.br/pp

Some 47.3% or about 1.6 billion kWh were generated by thermal power plants, down 16.1% compared to the first half of 2023./pp

The Armenian NPP produced about 1.4 billion kWh, up 8.6% (30.8% of the total), and the HPPs’ share was a little over 1bilion kWh, up 9.4% (24.1% of the total)./pp

Solar power plants, including independent producers, produced 468.6nbsp;million kWh of electricity, up 32%, while wind farms (share - 0.02%) produced 0.7 million kWh, down 38%. -0-/pp nbsp;/pp nbsp;/p
