Russian ambassador reaffirms Moscow’s role as honest broker in Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process

YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin, emphasized that Moscow has never abandoned its role as an honest broker in the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan./pp

In a recent interview, Kopyrkin pointed to recent diplomatic efforts, including Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Azerbaijan on August 18-19 and his phone conversations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as clear examples of Russia’s continued involvement./pp

Kopyrkin highlighted that Russia, and particularly Putin, played a pivotal role in ending the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war and establishing the trilateral working group to unblock economic and transport communications between the two nations./pp

We are genuinely interested in the success of the negotiations, the well-being, and peace of our closest neighbors, partners, and allies, Kopyrkin stated.
