Power supply problems in Armenia are getting worse - Pashinyan

YEREVAN, September 5. /ARКА/. The Armenian government will convene a special meeting next week to consider ways to solve the power supply problems, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today./pp

According to him, residents of almost all regions of the country, as well as businesses, report power outages and other problems./pp

I expect explanations to be given - firstly, why this is happening, and secondly, we need a clear action plan to solve this problem as soon as possible. In my opinion, the problem is getting worse, he said./pp

In response, the head of the Public Services Regulatory Commission Garegin Baghramyan said that the problems are not least related to the sharp increase in the number of new subscribers connecting to the power grid./pp

He added that the national electricity distribution company Electrical Networks of Armenia (ENA) is forced to spend money on these activities instead of directing them to ensuring the quality of services./p
