YEREVAN, September 30 /ARKA/. According to customs control data, the turnover of agricultural products between Armenia and the EAEU countries increased by 7.3% in January-August, said Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Arman Khojoyan.br/pp
In agriculture, infrastructure and logistics play a major role in ensuring the development of the industry. In the modern world, the agricultural sector must not only produce high-quality products, but also deliver them to the consumer quickly and efficiently, he said on Monday at the panel discussion Infrastructure and Logistics in Agriculture: Modern Challenges and Solutions at the Third Eurasian Forum in Yerevan.nbsp;/pp
According to Khojoyan, this infrastructure is somewhat lagging behind in Armenia, despite two state programs: subsidizing interest rates on the purchase and construction of agricultural warehouses, freezers, processing equipment and logistics centers, as well as on the purchase of vehicles for transportation.nbsp;nbsp;/pp
That is, transport vehicles, warehouses, refrigeration facilities, and a logistics center - all of this in Armenia is a little behind and is not at the level we would like to see, said Khojoyan, adding that this is one of the points of cooperation./pp
In the context of infrastructure, he noted that Armenia annually invests a lot of money in major road repairs.nbsp;/pp “In 2024, approximately $150 million was allocated for major road repairs and about $15 million for technical repairs,” he said.nbsp;/pp
The Deputy Minister noted that one of the possibilities for stimulating these processes is to speed up the processes of customs clearance and identification of issued fines.nbsp;/pp
This, I think, is the most important thing for us, and especially when we talk about perishables, these problems still remain. Many projects are being implemented in Armenia that accelerate all these processes, but so far we see that this does not really apply to the export of perishables from Armenia, he added./pp
According to operational statistics, the volume of foreign trade turnover of Armenia in January-August 2024 amounted to $22.6 billion, which is 70.9% more than the figure for January-August 2023.nbsp;/pp
According to official statistics, the volume of products manufactured in the first half of 2024 in Armenia in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fish farming amounted to 311.3 billion in current prices, increasing by 4.3% compared to the same period in 2023. -0-/p
