Inflation in Armenia in September made 0.6 per cent

YEREVAN, 3 October. /ARKA/. Inflation in Armenia rose by 0.6 percent in September 2024 compared to September 2023 and by 0.2 percent compared to August 2024, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) said./pp

According to the NSC data, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 1 per cent in September 2024 compared to September 2023 and by 0.6 per cent compared to August 2024./pp

Alcohol and tobacco prices rose 4.1 per cent year-on-year and 0.1 per cent from August this year./pp

Clothing and footwear prices fell 3.4 per cent in September 2024 yoy (down 0.8 per cent from August 2024) and utilities rose 0.6 per cent (up 0.2 per cent from August 2024)./pp

Prices for household goods, appliances and daily household activities fell 4 per cent in September from a year earlier and rose 0.9 per cent from August 2024./pp

Health care prices rose by 2% year-on-year in September (up 0.2% m/, communication services rose by 0.5% (up 0.1% m/m), recreation and cultural services rose by 0, 3% (up 0.3% m/m), education rose by 7.8% (up 7.8% m/m), and the restaurant and hotel sector rose by 2.7% (down 0.1%)./pp

At the same time, according to statistics, prices for non-food products in September 2024 compared to September 2023 decreased by 1.7 % and increased by 0.5 % compared to August this year./pp

Prices for services in September 2024 were up 3.6 % yoy and 0.8 % m/m./pp

Armenia's economic growth in the state budget for 2024 is envisaged at the level of 7%. The Central Bank of Armenia expects the economy to grow if 6.5-5.8% in 2024. -0-nbsp;nbsp;/pp nbsp;/p
