Exclusive: Steven Soderbergh's Editing Notes For 'The Knick' Season 2

**If you haven't seen the finale of "The Knick" season 2, spoilers ahead**

"The Knick," as we know it, is no more. Steven Soderbergh's medical drama wrapped up the second season in dramatic fashion last week, killing off the lead character Dr. John Thackery; and with the titular hospital trading hands to the city, and with much of the staff scattered to winds and following new paths, the narrative has shifted in a big way (our recap). Indeed, in our recent conversation with the director, he confirmed that seasons three and four will likely be in the hands of new directors, telling new stories.

But before we get too far ahead of ourselves in discussing where the series is going, it's worth reflecting on where it has been. As we saw in last week's collection of wrap statistics from season two, Soderbergh put in an inhuman amount of work on the show, not just as a director, but as an editor and cinematographer too, all while shooting at an incredibly fast rate.
