Mobile water treatment plants a boon to British Columbia's tiny, remote communities

First Nations and tiny rural communities are getting a taste of clean, pure water, thanks to a new streamlined approach to treatment plant design developed by engineers at the University of B.C. More than 540 boil-water advisories were issued in B.C. last year, more than any in other province. Most were in remote villages and on reserves with inadequate or non-existent water treatment facilities.
