Watch: 2 New Supercuts Highlight The Visual Parallels Between 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' And The Original Trilogy

We’re a little over one week away from the second release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” This time on the home video market, as the blockbuster flies its way into homes everywhere on April 5th (it'll first arrive on digital on April 1st). So it’s now only a matter of time before the Internet is flooded with more reaction videos, in-depth analyzing, screenshots, and, of course, shot-by-shot comparisons of J.J. Abrams’ latest to the original trilogy. But it looks like two editors, Vimeo’s Zachary Antell and Jorge Luengo Ruiz, are already light years ahead of everyone else.

The videos, titled “A New Awakening” and the less-sexy “Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) // Original Trilogy (1977- 1983)” respectively, make a point of showing the rhythm and harmony found plentifully throughout the series — something that’s long been indebted into its bloodline before pesky Midi-chlorians barged their way into the system.
