Bees attack Pretoria pupils

Approximately 30 Pretoria high school pupils were treated by paramedics after they were attacked by a swarm of bees.

Pretoria – Around 30 school children were treated by paramedics at a Pretoria high school after being stung by a swarm of bees on Friday afternoon, ER24 said.

“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene where they found that numerous children had been stung by a swarm of bees,” the paramedic service said in a statement.

“It is believed that mechanics had been working on the school floodlights when the bees were apparently disturbed.”

None of the pupils sustained serious injuries, the statement said.
