Minister: final natural gas price cut to be made after consideration of Gazprom Armenia’s application

YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. The final decision on how much to cut the price of natural gas for consumers in Armenia will be made after the Public Services Regulatory Commission considers a relevant application from Gazprom Armenian gas distribution company, energy and natural resources minister Levon Yolyan told reporters today.

Earlier Armenia's Russian-owned national natural gas distribution company said it intended to ask the Public Services Regulation Commission (PSRC) to allow it to cut the price of natural gas for households and enterprises by about 6%. PSRC told ARKA today it did not receive the application yet

A spokeswoman for Gazprom Armenia, Shushan Sardaryan, said to ARKA today that company plans to cut the price of one cubic meter of natural gas for households, which consumer less than 10,000 cubic meters a year, from 156 to 146.7 drams (a decrease of 6%).

The price for companies, which consume more than 10 thousand cubic meters a month is proposed to reduce from $276.98 to $257.56 for one thousand cubic meters in dram equivalent (including VAT) at the rate of Central Bank on the 25th of each previous month.

In early April, Russia has reduced the price of gas for Armenia  from $165 to $150 per thousand cubic meters.
