Board of trustees of Armenian development fund to be headed by minister of economy
Under an Armenian government decision, made today, from now on the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Development Fund will be headed by minister of economy. Until now it was headed by prime minister.
Minister of economy Artsvik Minasyan said the Fund deals with projects, designed to stimulate the economy.
He explained that the decision is prompted by the busy schedule of prime minister. He also added that the Board will have 14 members. Of them 13 are appointed by the chairman of the Board, which consists of one representative of the president's office, ministries of foreign affairs, agriculture, territorial administration, finance. Other seven members represent academic, public and private sectors.
The Armenian Development Fund was established by the Government in December 2014. It is a merger of several government agencies, including the Industrial Development Fund and the National Competitiveness Foundation. Later the National Tourism Agency and the Armenian Development Agency were incorporated into it. -0-
