Alexander Forbes yet to name new boss

Financial services group Alexander Forbes is in the process of finalising the appointment of a chief executive.

Johannesburg - Alexander Forbes on Monday said it was still in the process of finalising the appointment of a chief executive, six months after Edward Kieswetter resigned in February.

“The company advises that it has made significant progress in the recruitment of a group chief executive and is at the advanced stage of finalising an appointment,” Alexander Forbes said in a statement.

In February, Kieswetter approached the Alexander Forbes board and gave them notice of his intention to retire at the end of the next financial year, March 2017, for personal reasons.

The board then decided to allow him to take early retirement immediately with an agreement that he avails himself to assist with a smooth transition and serve on projects as required.

Non-executive chairman Sello Moloko was then appointed to act as executive chairman, and chief financial officer Deon Viljoen assumed the role of interim group chief executive.

These appointments would remain in place until the financial services group finds a new chief executive.
