Speedo ends sponsorship of Ryan Lochte
Speedo USA is ending its sponsorship of US Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, the swimwear company said in a press release.

“Speedo USA today announces the decision to end its sponsorship of Ryan Lochte,” the release stated.
In the release, the company noted that it could not condone Lochte's behaviour at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil because it does not reflect the values of its brand.
Lochte had alleged that he and three other US swimmers were robbed at gunpoint by people claiming to be Brazilian police officers.
He has since apologised for exaggerating the story and for his immature behaviour.
A police investigation revealed the four swimmers were detained and asked to pay for the damage they caused to a gas station while intoxicated. Security camera footage shows a security guard drawing his weapon when the swimmers tried to leave.
