New Colombia FARC Peace Deal Will Not Seek Public Vote

The Colombian government and the FARC guerilla group have agreed to sign a historic new peace accord in Bogota, Colombia. The deal is an attempt to end more than five decades of violence, in what is the longest-running conflict in the Western Hemisphere. However, opposition parties are angry that the deal will not be put to a public vote.
