Bulgaria, USA Agreement on Access to Information To Be Signed
The agreement between Bulgaria and the USA on granting access to Bulgaria to American information about high-risk migrants will be signed irrespective of the change in administrations, assured Assistant Secretary for International Affairs for the Department of Homeland Security Alan Bersin who is visiting Bulgaria.
Talks were held between outgoing Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova and the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson at the end of July during the visit of Bachvarova to Washington.
Technical teams from the USA together with Border Police and the State Agency for National Security (DANS) have discussed the plans and deadlines for the implementation of the agreement, assured Bersin and added:
“Even if the administration changes in January, employees working on it will continue. There are processes between the countries that will hardly be subject to a change of policy.”
