Prison riot breaks out in Perm penal colony

The riot broke out in Penal Colony No. 10 in the village of Vsevyatskaya. A special forces unit was deployed to the facility to suppress the uprising, and its participants were placed in solitary confinement. They have been unreachable ever since, asserts Oxana Asaulenko.

The Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) in Perm Oblast denied the occurrence of a riot, claiming that several inmates broke a camera and two lamps to "express their disagreement with the lawful demands of the facility’s employees." The FSIN also asserted that they did not use force against the prisoners. Oxana Asaulenko added that the riot resulted in broken phone jammers.

According to sources from the Telegram channel "Epaulettes and Neckties," the conflict with the guards was initiated by "high-ranking" criminals. The riot police arrived at the facility, and 15 individuals were placed in solitary confinement. Shortly before the uprising, inmates were allegedly deprived of shavers and prohibited from taking walks.

Penal Colony No. 10 is a high-security facility in the Chusovsky District of Perm Oblast. It can accommodate almost 2,300 inmates and is considered one of the largest penal colonies in Russia.
