FMs` next 3+3 meeting to take place in Turkiye soon - Iranian  ambassador 

ArmInfo.The next meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the regional "3+3" platform  will be held in Turkey in the near future. Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani stated this to the Iranian SNN agency.

He recalled that the first meeting of the platform at the level of  participating foreign ministers was held in Tehran. In this vein, the  diplomat added that holding this first meeting in Tehran was one of  the achievements of the 13th government.

Sobhani also recalled Tehran's position regarding the  Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting that it is quite clear. "We support  the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Armenia and are against  changing international borders and any geopolitical changes in the  region. Security and stability in the region meet the interests of  Iran, and we are ready to contribute to this," the Iranian diplomat  noted.

The diplomat also pointed out the importance of the Syunik region of  Armenia for the Iranian side. "The south of Armenia, as a strategic  region, plays an important role in ensuring security and trade  between Iran and Armenia. The opening of the Consulate General of  Iran in Kapan contributed to the improvement of border  communications," he concluded.

It should be noted that on October 23, 2023, the second meeting of  the regional "3+3" platform was held in Tehran at the level of  foreign ministers of five countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia,  Iran and Turkey.  Georgia did not take part in the work of the  platform. The parties agreed to hold the next meeting within this  platform in the first half of 2024 in Turkey.

Before this, the platform met once, on December 10, 2021 in Moscow,  co-chaired by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation,  Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and the Director General of the Iranian  Foreign Ministry. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that  representatives of Georgia, who were also invited, refrained from  participating in the meeting, but the doors are always open for them.
