Three Armenian grandmasters among top 100 in of updated FIDE rating
ArmInfo.Three grandmasters from Armenia entered the top 100 of the updated rating of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
According to the rating, the best result was recorded by Hayk Martirosyan, who took 51st place with 2676 points. Shant Sargsyan was in 70th place with 2655 points, and Gabriel Sargsyan was in 93rd place with 2640 points.
The former leader of Armenian chess Levon Aronian, who currently plays for the USA, was in 16th place in the rating, with 2738 points. Another Armenian, Samuil Sevian, representing the USA, took 41st place with 2689 points. The list is headed by Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, with 2831 points, followed by American Hikaru Nakamura (2802 points), and Indian Arjun Erigaishi (2797 points).
