Research shows basketball more popular than 4 years ago

PARIS, July 24 (Xinhua) -- A research conducted in 18 countries and regions worldwide shows basketball is more popular than four years ago, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Wednesday.

The Nielsen Fan Insights survey reported that basketball is the second most popular sports globally behind football, up from 68% in 2019 to 74% in 2023.

Interest in basketball is projected at 69%,
