Financial costs become greater strain on US Olympians

PARIS -- Being an Olympic athlete in the U.S. is not only physically arduous, but financially costly.

A recent report revealed 26.5 percent of high-performance American athletes earn less than $15,000 a year, according to "Passing the Torch" by the Commission on the State of the U.S. Olympics Paralympics.

Another 10 percent earn between $15,000-$25,000.
