Giants place LHP Robbie Ray (hamstring) on IL

The San Francisco Giants placed left-hander Robbie Ray on the injured list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain and recalled right-hander Landen Roupp from Triple-A Sacramento.

Ray, 32, was removed from Sunday's road start against the Seattle Mariners in the fourth inning during an at-bat against Justin Turner.
