Exeter City F.C. have announced that young goalkeeper Harry Lee has signed a fresh one-year contract, securing his place as a Grecian until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Rising Star

Loan Spells: Harry Lee, just 19 years old, had an impressive 2023/24 season on loan. He first shone at Weston-super-Mare, keeping eight clean sheets in 20 appearances. Later, a second loan spell at Salisbury was cut short due to a broken arm.
Injury: Harry Lee, has recovered from his broken arm he suffered at Salisbury. So Lee is ready to be part of Gary Caldwell’s squad for the upcoming pre-season schedule, which kicks off on July 9 at Tiverton Town.

Lee’s Words

I knew as soon as I was offered it that I was going to sign. This is the best place to play my football, and I can just focus on my game now. I’ve been fortunate to work with an amazing group of goalkeepers, learning from Vil and Shaun’s professionalism.

I’ll likely go out on loan again, but pre-season here is my chance to impress the gaffer and Kev [Miller, GK Coach]. I’ll give my best so that when I return, I can break into the first team.

Manager’s Perspective

Gary Caldwell emphasised Lee’s potential:

Harry has huge potential, and he still needs to work hard to kick-start his career. We’ll look to loan him out again for game time, but we believe he can fulfil that potential this season.

The question for Exeter City fans is “Who will be the number 1 next season?”. It’s thought it won’t be Harry Lee or Shaun MacDonald, so will there be a new signing for the keeper role or will there be a loan signing for the season?
