Jay Bird Joins Exeter City on a one-year contract

Background

Bird’s journey to Exeter City is via the MK Don Academy, going on loan to Hitchin but suffered a serious injury after playing a couple of games. He then make his League One début for MK Dons in May 2021. Jay Bird went on loan to Wealdstone in the 2021/22 season playing nine times. A non-contract move to National League side Dagenham and Redbridge occurred in in the 2022/23 season after being released by MK Dons. He played 9 times and scored two goals. Last season he signed for Arbroath in the Scottish Championship. Arbroath in their introduction to Jay said:-

Jay made a huge impression on the pitch with his control, strength, pace, link-up play and the desire to take on defenders and was rewarded with the winning goal which he rocketed into the net after being set up by Ryan Dow.

Jay played 40 times for Arbroath last season, scoring 10 times, earning 6 yellow cards and sent off once.
