Simple Plate for Front Country Camping

The 10" Plastic Kids' Square Divided Plate by Pillowfort, sold at Target, costs $1 and is now $0.85 on sale. It’s lightweight, BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe for reheating. Available singly or in sets, it effectively separates food. Its limited colors and separate spork purchase are drawbacks. Highly recommended for camping.

It seems almost silly to review this plate, but I got asked about it at the Northstar Experience Upper Iowa trip this year (See my trip report here). It’s the 10″ Plastic Kids’ Square Divided Plate by Pillowfort, and it’s sold by Target. The reason I bought it is because I forgot it was a “Bring Your Own Plate” gathering. So, I needed a plate and was driving by Target. I figured they would have cheap plates. They did.

It’s $1! One dollar. One buck.

Green, the color I bought, is now $0.85 on sale.

Unboxing and Initial Impressions

There is no box. It is sold in a stack. You can buy individually for $1 or in sets of six for $5. Individually, there are only three colors, but in a set you can get six different colors.

Specifications

It’s food-safe, BPA-free plastic, and it’s divided into three sections. It’s dishwasher safe, and they say it is okay to use in the microwave for reheating only. It weighs 4.6 ounces.

Performance

It works as advertised. It keeps all your foods from touching each other. This plastic plate worked great! I can highly recommend it.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Lightweight-ish
  • Three divisions
  • Cheap
  • Really Cheap
  • Super Cheap

Cons

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you are looking for a divided plate for all your camping needs, you should seriously consider Pillowfort’s 10″ Plastic Kids’ Square Divided Plate.

Obviously, this review is a bit tongue-in-cheek, and I don’t make any money in commissions from Target (I will if you click the REI link and buy a spork), but this is actually a nice plate. I ended up buying two more so that we have enough for my family when front country camping.
