The security forces killed a Taliban commander during a clash in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, the Afghan military said Wednesday.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military said in a statement that the security forces killed Qari Asif alias Abbas, one of the local commanders of Taliban in Faryab.

The statement further added that the security forces killed Qari Asif during a clash in Khwaja Sabz Posh district of Faryab.

Furthermore, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the security forces also killed one of the comrades of Qari Asif and wounded 5 others during the clash.

The 209th Shaheen Corps said in a statement that the security forces conducted the airstrike in Almar district of Faryab on Wednesday.

The statement further added that the airstrike killed Damla Sarwar, the shadow district chief of Taliban for Almar.

Furthermore, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the airstrike also killed Mullah Qutbuddin, the Red Unit commander of the group in Faryab.

The airstrike also killed 3 other Taliban militants and destroyed a vehicle, the 209th Shaheen Corps added.

Airstrike in Takhar kills a prominent commander of the Taliban group

An airstrike in Takhar province killed a prominent commander of the Taliban group, the Afghan military said Wednesday.

According to a statement released by 217th Pamir Corps in the North-east, the Air Forces conducted the airstrike in Khwajah Bahauddin district on Tuesday night.

The statement further added that the airstrike killed Mawlavi Jamal, one of the prominent commanders of Taliban in Takhar.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the airstrike so far.

The Afghan Special Forces killed or detained 15 Taliban militants during their latest operations in the past 24 hours.

The military officials said Thursday that the Special Forces killed 2 Taliban militants, detained 2 others and destroyed a small cache of weapons in Chimtal district of Balkh.

The officials further added that the Special Forces killed 2 Taliban militants and arrested 4 others during a raid in Pul-e Khumri city of Baghlan province.

Furthermore, the Special Forces destroyed a cache of weapons belonging to Taliban in Uruzgan province.

The Special Forces also detained 5 Taliban militants during a raid in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province, the officials added.

The security forces carried out a series of airstrikes against Taliban and ISIS Khurasan militants in five provinces killing at least 12 militants.

The military officials said Thursday that an airstrike killed 5 Taliban militants and destroyed a small cache of weapons in Almar district of Faryab.

The officials further added that the security forces conducted similar airstrikes in Sholgarah and Chimtal districts of Balkh which killed a Taliban militant and destroyed a small cache of weapons.

Furthermore, the security forces killed a Taliban militant by conducting an airstrike in Giro district of Ghazni.

The security forces conducted a similar air raid in Shah Joy district of Zabul which killed 1 Taliban militant.

The officials also added that an airstrike in Khugyani district of Nangarhar killed 4 militants of ISIS Khurasan terror group.

The security forces killed or wounded at least 10 Taliban militants during the operations in South-eastern Ghazni province.

The Ghazni Governor’s Office said in a statement that the security forces conducted the operations in Khwaja Omari district earlier today.

The statement further added that the Air Forces also carried out airstrikes during the operations which killed 8 Taliban militants.

Furthermore, the Governor’s Office said the security forces also wounded 2 Taliban militants during the operations.

The statement also added that the security conducted the operations to ensure security amid National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib’s trip to the province.
