Was it Worth it “Cols. Cabal”: Rip off the Government, Serve Five Years in the Slam……..?

Retired Army Col. Joseph Young, 64 joined the “Colonels Cabal” by conspiring to pay bribes to get contracts through improper channels for his communications company, JY & Associates. Young admitted to the scheme, according to his own testimony and guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Augusta.

Between 2008 and 2014, Young conspired with three other Army officers in the $20 million kickback scheme for government contracts at Fort Gordon, Augusta Chronicle reported.

Young was in cahoots with Col. Anthony Williams, in charge of the billion-dollar DOD budget in Washington.

Part of the deal was for Young to give Williams’ wife an illusionary job through which she raked in $1.2 million during the 6 year scheme (2008-14) according to the Chronicle report.

Another partner in crime, retired Col. Calvin Lawyer retained JY & Associates, Young’s tech company as a subcontractor. The link at Fort Gordon was Col. Anthony Roper, who the Cols bribed to throw contracts their way.
