Duncan Hunter, Former Marine, Congressman, admits to corruption, to Quit Office
Congressman Hunter, facing charges on corruption for misuse of campaign funds for personal expenses, stated that he will plead guilty to the charges and resign his post as Congressman.
In an exclusive interview with KUSI’s Steve Bosh, Congressman Duncan D. Hunter announced that he will plead guilty to one count of misuse of campaign funds in Tuesday’s court appearance. He will admit to one count of misusing campaign funds, saying he was doing so for the sake of protecting his three children from what theater may occur during any further proceedings, according to the local news, KUSI which conducted the interview.

Soon after our nation was attacked on September 11, 2001, Hunter quit his job and joined the United States Marine Corps. Hunter entered active service as a Lieutenant in 2002 and excelled in the area of field artillery, much like his grandfather, Robert O. Hunter, who was a Marine Corps artillery officer in World War II.
Over the course of his service career, Hunter served three combat tours overseas: two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. In 2003, Hunter deployed to Iraq with the 1st Marine Division. Hunter completed his second tour in 2004, where he and his fellow Marines were at the center of combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq.
In September 2005, four years after he quit his job and joined the Marine Corps, Hunter was honorably discharged from active military service and started a successful residential development company. Still a Marine Reservist, he was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2006, and to the rank of Major in 2012.
Less than two years before Hunter was elected, he was recalled to active duty and deployed to Afghanistan. Hunter returned home after more than six months on the front lines and, with the support of the San Diego community, became the first Marine combat veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan elected to Congress.
Hunter is a strong conservative who is committed to strengthening national security, enforcing our borders, creating opportunities for American workers and protecting the interests of taxpayers. He is also a strong proponent of the Second Amendment, protecting traditional marriage and the rights of the unborn.

ON the Military:
Congressman Hunter on Immigration: 2019: “We are in the midst of a federal government shutdown for one reason and one reason only: Democrats continue to care more about the safety and well-being of people in foreign countries than the people here in the U.S. There is no other way to explain it. Democrats continually refuse to provide funding for border security, which they admit we need and have supported in the past.
2018: “My recommendation is to direct United States Northern Command (USSNORTHCOM) to move the appropriate equipment and personnel to border bases to accomplish staging preparations for construction while, at the same time, mutually supporting active duty personnel stationed to defend our border,” wrote Congressman Hunter.
On the SEAL Gallagher case:
2019, July “The Gallagher case has been shameful from the start and, while much damage has been done, I am confident that Chief Gallagher, Andrea, their children and the entire family has the fortitude and determination to rebuild their lives and move on to the next chapter. That being said, the fact that this situation would happen to an American hero is nothing short of a disgrace for the entire military justice system.
“On very circumstantial and limited physical evidence, the Navy felt it appropriate to charge Chief Gallagher with the murder of an ISIS terrorist, accomplishing nothing but destroying the military career of a decorated Navy SEAL and giving every warfighter cause for concern that the nation they serve does not have their back.
2019, April: On Military Families and the 2nd Amend: Congressman Duncan Hunter introduced the Protect Our Military Families’ 2nd Amendment Rights Act. This bill will provide military spouses with the same exemption military servicemembers currently have from the mandate requiring U.S. citizens to purchase firearms in the state in which they live. “Military spouses, who already sacrifice so much, are being denied their full protection under the 2nd Amendment,” said
