Judge in El Paso Issues nationwide injunction blocking use of military funds for The Wall

On January 6 2019 President Trump formally requested $5.7 billion for funding of the wall which led to a government shut down. The Request tapped appropriated military government Construction funds, which is illegal, according to the District Judge David Briones, who issued the injunction to bock the funding this week.

The Major thrust from the plaintiffs attorneys is to put a limit on President Trump’s power to declare a national emergency and to authorize spending of funding for the wall.

The injunction is to be filed within 10 days by the plaintiffs El Paso county And Border Network for human right. The Trump administration will have five days to respond so this is ongoing.
