According to a statement released by Kabul Police, Hamidullah, the leader of a gang, was killed during a clash with the police forces in Cheh Dukhtaran area of Chahar Asiab district.

The statement further added that Hamidullah was leading a gang of criminals and was involved in various criminal activities including armed robberies and target killings.

Two of the accomplices of Hamidullah managed to flee the area after briefly clashing with the police forces, the statement said, adding that the police forces seized an Ak-47 rifle, some other military kits and a vehicle following the clash.

Earlier, The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said the Taliban militants set the bodies of five people on fire after shooting them dead in South-eastern Ghazni province.

According to a statement released by MoI, the Taliban militants killed the five people including three civilians and two policemen in Qayaq Valley of Jaghatoo district.

The statement further added that the victims were travelling in a vehicle when they were targeted by Taliban militants and their dead bodies were set on fire inside the car.

The interior ministry condemned the act as extremely brutal and against the humanity.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the incident so far.

10 May, The Afghan Special Forces killed 11 Taliban militants and wounded 4 others during a raid in central Logar province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Interior in a statement said the General Command of Police Special Unit (GCPSU) killed 11 Taliban militants during a raid in Koli Village of Mohammad Agha district.

The statement further added that the GCPSU forces also wounded four other Taliban militants during the same raid.

The GCPSU forces conducted a seprate raid in Ahmadzai Villge of Mohammad Agha district and arrested two militants affiliated with Taliban group, the statement added.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the two operations so far.

The acting chief of the Afghan intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS), said the orchestrators of recent attacks have links with ISIS and Haqqani terrorist network.

Ahmad Zia Saraj told reporters that the Afghan intelligence has a system in place to exchange information with the United States and that the documents regarding the recent attacks would be shared with the U.S. side.

He also added that the Al Qaeda terrorist network and other groups have further strengthened their ties with the Taliban group following the signing of peace deal with the United States.

According to Siraj, the Taliban group has carried out at least 3,700 attacks following the signing of the peace deal with the United States.

This comes as the Taliban group rejected their involvement in the recent attacks, particularly the raid on maternity ward in Kabul and the funeral bombing in Nangarhar.

The Taliban group on Friday issued a statement demanding a transparent and impartial investigations into the deadly attacks in Kabul and Nangarhar provinces.

The group condemned the two attacks in strong words and blamed the ‘criminal and malicious elements affiliated with the Afghan government’ for being involved in the two attacks.

“The Islamic Emirate strongly condemned both attacks and clarified that these attacks were the work of criminal and malicious elements who are seeking to attain their malicious objectives by killing defenseless human beings,” the group said in a statement.

The statement further added “The Islamic Emirate once again clarifies that it had no hand in the Dashti Barchi incident, considers it a vile, inhumane and an un-Islamic act and shares the grief of the families of martyrs and wounded of this tragedy.”

This comes as the Afghan government ordered the Afghan forces to resume offensive operations against the militants, blaming the Taliban and ISIS groups for targeting the civilians, women and infants.

Dozens of people including many security personnel, women and newborn children were killed after the militants carried out a series of attacks in Kabul, Nangarhar and Laghman provinces during the course of the week.
