USAF Aircraft Crashes Up in Recent Years?
30 June, 2020 One pilot was killed when their F-16CM Fighting Falcon crashed at approximately 11:30 p.m., June 30, at Shaw Air Force Base.
Dead is 1st Lt. David Schmidt, a 77th Fighter Squadron pilot.
The aircraft, assigned to the 20th Fighter Wing, was on a routine training mission at the time of the crash. As soon as additional details become available, information will be provided.
May 19, 2020 F-35 crashes at Eglin AFB
A F-35A Lightning II assigned to the 58th Fighter Squadron crashed upon landing around 9:30 p.m. EDT May 19, 2020
The pilot successfully ejected and was transported to the 96th Medical Group Hospital for evaluation and monitoring.
At the time of the accident, the pilot was participating in a routine night training sortie.
May 15, 2020 F-22 crashes on Eglin AFB range,
An F-22 Raptor assigned to the 43rd Fighter Squadron, and part of the 325th Fighter Wing currently based at Eglin Air Force Base, crashed at approximately 9:15 a.m. May 15. The location of the crash was approximately 12 miles northeast of Eglin AFB’s main base on the test and training range.
The pilot ejected safely from the aircraft and was transported to the 96th Medical Group hospital on Eglin AFB for evaluation and observation. He was listed in stable condition.

October 08, 2019 A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed at about 3 p.m. today near Zemmer, Germany,during a routine training sortie.
The pilot ejected safely and has been recovered with minor injuries. The aircraft was assigned to the 480th Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.
1 May, 2019. T-6 Texan II crashes at Sheppard AFB
A T-6 Texan II from Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, crashed just before 2 p.m. May 1, southwest of Hastings, Oklahoma. Both crew members ejected safely and have returned to base. The aircraft was performing a pilot instructor training mission at the time of the accident.
Nov. 2018 One killed, one injured in T-38 crash
One pilot is dead and one was transferred to Val Verde Regional Medical Center when a T-38C Talon assigned to Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, crashed on base at approximately 7:40 p.m. Nov. 13.
June 22, 2018. An A-29 Super Tucano crashed over the Red Rio Bombing Range at approximately 11:30 a.m. MDT today during a training flight as part of the Air Force’s Light Attack Experiment.
One aircrew member suffered minor injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. More information on the second aircrew member will be released when it is available.
F-16 Crashes are being investigated, although F-35s as well as other aircraft have been involved in the mishaps.

Brig. Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander of the 57th Wing, announced June 30 that search and rescue teams had found conclusive evidence that Captain Ziegler did not survive when his F-16C Fighting Falcon crashed during a combat training exercise. The mishap occurred on Bureau of Land Management property approximately 20 miles west of Caliente while the aircraft was operating in military airspace managed by Nevada Test and Training Range personneL.
2003, KUNSAN AIR BASE, South Korea (AFPN) — An F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot ejected safely before his aircraft crashed into the Yellow Sea about 56 miles southwest of here at 10:05 a.m. Sept. 9.
The pilot, Capt. Kevin Dydyk, was rescued by South Korean airmen in an HH-47 helicopter. Dydyk arrived here at noon and was reported in good condition at the 8th Medical Group clinic, officials said.
At the time of the accident, Dydyk, from the 35th Fighter Squadron, was on a training mission.
