RKB and Jerry Kraus Light Up The Boulder Rifle Club Pistol Range!

This last weekend, Lt. Col. Robert K. Brown and Jerry Kraus visited the Boulder Rifle Club where they ran through several boxes of their favorite ammo manufacturers  .45 ACP, 230 Grain Full Metal Jacket slugs. Most of you will not be surprised to find out that said ammo came from Black Hills, with whom SoF has a long, friendly relationship; uses Black Hills Ammo in all calibers all the time.

RKB remembers, “I had the pleasure of visiting Jeff and Kristi in Sturgis, South Dakota, a few years back after a buffalo hunt. I had a several-hour tour of the plant and got a pretty good insight how they produce some of the finest, most accurate ammo world-wide.”

Brown’s favorite handgun, a .45 Springfield Armory Model 1911 A-1, rescued from Gunsite years back, had been accurized by world-famous gunsmith,   He milled the frame handle, shaved the grips, pinned the grip safety and installed a short trigger, which reduced the circumference by 7/8 of an inch! It has “GSP” engraved on the upper right hand portion on the right side of the slide and  “Slimline” below it on the frame.
