Buckhead Community seeks separation from Atlanta as crime spikes
Bill White leads the Buckhead City Committee, which advocates a split from Atlanta. State lawmakers introduced legislation earlier this year that could pave the way for a “Buckhead City” vote on the November 2022 ballot.
White said the decision comes as crime in Atlanta has skyrocketed and police are not being properly funded.
White told Bill Hemmer on “America’s Newsroom” that he estimates nearly 80 percent of his community will vote in favor of the separation, Fox News reported.
“We filed our divorce papers at the city of Atlanta, and our divorce is final.”
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms’ policies of dissing and lack of support for police triggered the need for the community to secede.
“They feel demoralized, underpaid, under-recognized. They are being told basically not to fight crime in the way they would like to.”
Now in June the separation push is moving closer to reality. Multiple Portland Oregon Communities are pushing for separation due to high crime.
Mayor Bottoms is rabid woke, out of touch with priorities such as murder.
