BREAKING: The Supreme Court rules against Biden’s attempt to end the “Remain in Mexico” program
BREAKING: The Supreme Court rules against the Biden administration in its attempt to end the “Remain in Mexico” program, a controversial Trump-era border policy. SCOTUS refuses to block a lower-court ruling that requires the gov’t to reinstate the policy, The SCOTUSblog reported, adding:
The brief shadow-docket order contains minimal reasoning but cites the 2020 case in which SCOTUS ruled that the Trump administration acted unlawfully when it tried to quickly cancel Obama’s DACA program. Now that ruling is hindering Biden from unwinding Trump immigration policy.
In January, Biden halted the policy in one of his dozens of executive orders reversing Trumps policies, and later, DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas ended the Trump policy, which basically required those waiting for their cases to be heard to remain in Mexico rather than seeking asylum in the United States . The recent Biden and DHS chaotic policies wreaked mayhem on the border.
