One of the simplest accesses available to most of the global population, is the cellphone. Later, we permitted “smart TVs” tablets, even some female-named robot standing in the corner you ask to play a song for you. We’ve allowed these electronic spies into our homes without thought of impact on our privacy, but under the guise of convenience and in some cases, safety.
Since most everyone has a cellphone, that device became the first to crack for the ill-intended hackers and spies. After the Patriot Act, the thin veil of prohibition to spy on Americans became essentially lifted, and the justice system looked away from casual domestic spying.
That means they spy on you, your children, the inside of your home, and even who comes to your front door if you use a video surveillance door bell. They spy on you when you grocery shop through GPS, and know when you attend a meeting or a rally deemed extremist. Your children’s text messages can easily be monitored and intercepted by those who mean them harm and suddenly a text from a stranger about a missing puppy turns into bait that doesn’t end well.
