The Bandits Behind the Masks
Bushy Brows Bandit strikes again. Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force confirmed that the same suspect involved in a series of bank robberies over the last month hit the US Bank at 6766 W. Coal Mine Ave. at 4:30 on 2/11.
“Criminals are taking advantage of the situation to blend in with the public,” says Inspector General Robert E. Laurence. “It’s terrifying, because they’re wearing masks and walking around like regular people, except they’re also committing crimes.”
Masks are made to conceal identity, so when someone is wearing a face mask that covers their nose and mouth, they are actually indistinguishable at that point from a burglar or super villain¹. Laurence explains: “Just as a mask covering only the eyes and forehead conceals a superhero’s identity, pandemic face masks do the exact same thing — they render wearers entirely unrecognizable”².
Better yet for the crooks, the uptick use of latex gloves helps them to leave fingerprint-less crimes.
