Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur hold a strong interest in Leeds United starlet Archie Gray as they look for a right-back to replace Emerson Royal.
Tottenham need a new right-back this summer
Gold confirms that Emerson is on his way out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, thus causing the Lilywhites to be on the lookout for a competent backup to Pedro Porro.
He says that Spurs are big fans of Gray, having watched him closely in his breakthrough season at Elland Road in 2023-24.
However, he points out that Tottenham are not alone in their admiration for the 18-year-old, with a host of Premier League clubs also eyeing the youngster.

Gold says that Ange Postecoglou’s men are expected to face plenty of competition for the right-back, who will not come cheap as he only signed a new contract at Leeds back in January.
The journalist adds that although there is a feeling at Spurs that Gray might be perfectly suited for the inverted full-back role, the teenager might want to remain at his boyhood club and continue playing regularly for the time being.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs test the water with an actual bid.
