Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed on his Patreon that Tottenham Hotspur are now battling Brentford and Crystal Palace for Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid star Jude.

Jobe Bellingham has impressed at Sunderland

Bellingham has had an exceptional year at Sunderland following his move to the Stadium of Light from Birmingham City last summer and the attacking midfielder is now being backed to make a move to the Premier League.

Nixon has now become the latest to credit Spurs with an interest in the youngster but he reveals that Palace and Brentford are ready to offer stiff competition to the Lilywhites.

According to the update, Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of the 18-year-old and sees him as a long-term option in the Tottenham midfield.

Spurs, Palace and Brentford all like Jobe Bellingham

The Birmingham City academy graduate is thought to be valued in excess of £20m, with the price seemingly not putting off the Premier League trio.

Nixon claims that if Bellingham does arrive at N17, he will be used as a squad player next season, potentially providing cover for James Maddison.

However, the journalist adds that the Spurs hierarchy see the teenager as an investment for the future and have a ‘genuine belief’ that he could develop into something special.

With Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall already at the club and with Tottenham now seemingly going after Bellingham, it looks like Ange wants to future-proof the club’s midfield.

The Australian will fancy his chances of getting the best out of these youngsters, as he has done with the likes of Udogie and Sarr.
