There are high hopes on the shoulders of Tottenham Hotspur’s latest signing, Archie Gray, and the youngster has been discussing what his first impressions in training have been and how the sessions are helping him develop.

Gray enjoys the high intensity at Spurs

Gray has been hard at work in his first week of training with Spurs, and even got his first minutes under his belt in the recent behind-closed-doors friendly against Cambridge United, as well as the friendly against Hearts last night.

Now, speaking to SpursPlay, the youngster has explained how he has been settling in: “It’s been a really good start. The high-intensity sessions, short track bursts, it suits me but it’s also really good for your fitness, especially when you come back in pre-season.

“There are a lot of things I need to learn and improve, as it’s a different manager and a different style of play. But, I think that will come over the course of pre-season.

“Quite a few of the young lads like Jamie Donley, they’ve all been really good with me and I can’t wait to get to know them even more.”

In the clip, Spurs boss, Ange Postecoglou, also praises the club for making the signing of Gray and states how excited he is to work with the youngster.

Big plans for Archie Gray this season

Much like fellow new arrival, Lucas Bergvall, Gray has been handed a strong squad number with the 14 shirt, which suggests he is in line for a good level of first-team action this season.

Moving to Spurs is a solid step up for Gray, but I’m sure he will handle it brilliantly.

He seems to have a really good head on his shoulders, and he’s done so well in the Championship that he has already been playing above his age in a sense.

I can’t wait to see what he does in Postecoglou’s system.
