Former Newcastle United board member, Amanda Staveley, is looking for a new football investment and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among her next potential targets, according to Bloomberg.

Who is Amanda Staveley?

The report claims that Staveley has raised £500 million through her PCP Capital Partners investment fund and is looking to put that money into a football club.

Sources close to the story claim Tottenham are on Staveley’s radar and she has even held early talks with Spurs advisers Rothschild & Co to buy a minority stake in the club.

However, these considerations are said to be at an early stage and Staveley is also looking at other high-profile clubs, including AS Monaco in Ligue 1. Tottenham declined to comment on the story when contacted by Bloomberg.

Tottenham Hotspur are open to investments

Daniel Levy admitted earlier this year that Tottenham are open to investment opportunities at the moment, although he has no desire to leave the club himself (Standard).

The Daily Mail also reported in April that multiple US-based investment groups were interested in purchasing a minority stake in Tottenham, including MSP Sports Capital.

Club insider Paul O’Keefe went as far as to say that Spurs were in talks with MSP Sports Capital about a potential 40 per cent investment in the Premier League side.

However, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed that sources within Spurs had denied any such talks.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Any investment is good investment for Tottenham. I would much prefer a minority investment with Daniel Levy remaining in overall charge though.

Say what you want about him, he has the club’s interest at heart and I worry what a business outsider could prioritise if they come in and take over.
