Mikey Moore is part of the first-team squad

Moore might only turn seventeen a week before the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season, but it appears as though the forward is already becoming a regular member of Tottenham’s first-team squad, going almost straight from the under-18s to the senior side.

The highly rated winger, who can also play more centrally, caught the eye when notching an outstanding seventeen goals and twelve assists in twenty-two games for Tottenham’s U18 side last season.

Ange Postecoglou took note and threw the teenage forward into the senior side towards the end of last season. (TransferMarkt)

Postecoglou remarked how Moore didn’t ‘look out of place’ when linking up with the senior squad last season (Football.London), which appears to have earned the 16-year-old the status of being a first-teamer ahead of the 24/25 campaign.

Football.London reported that Moore netted in the club’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Cambridge and he did so again in the friendly against Hearts last night.

Moore is expected to get plenty of game time next season

Alasdair Gold when speaking on his podcast: Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham, explained what he has heard within Spurs, revealing “I keep getting told that he’s going to get more minutes than we actually expect this season, which is great”.

Tottenham have plenty of pre-season action to get through with fans likely being able to gauge how much football Moore will get next season from those games.

The friendlies will also offer fans as well as Postecoglou a chance to see how the sixteen-year-old can manage when facing senior opponents, but Alasdair Gold’s report suggests there’s plenty of faith that the teenager will adapt to the next impressively and perhaps be the next star at Tottenham

Spurs Web opinion

All the signs currently point towards Mikey Moore being an incredibly talented player, who with this volume of first-team experience at such a young age is likely to develop quickly.

It will be incredibly interesting to watch Moore play a bit more frequently across Spurs’ pre-season but reports currently suggest that Tottenham fans may start to get very excited after they see the forward in action.
