Report reveals how Postecoglou has been using Odobert in Spurs training this week
Football London have revealed that new Tottenham signing Wilson Odobert played on the right flank in training this week, which might be a sign of things to come ahead of the weekend.
Tottenham sign Wilson Odobert from Burnley
Odobert signed for Spurs from Burnley last week, with the announcement catching everyone by surprise as hardly any media outlet had caught wind of the negotiations between the two clubs.
While the 19-year-old is still not quite the finished product, his talent is not in any doubt, which is why there is some excitement at Spurs regarding how he will be moulded by Ange Postecoglou.
The Frenchman could not feature against Leicester City on Monday since he was still waiting for the renewal of his work permit (The Standard) and he will be hoping to make his debut in Tottenham’s first home game of the season against Everton this Saturday.
The former Burnley man will have to beat the likes of Heung-min Son, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Timo Werner and even Mikey Moore if he wants to earn a starting spot at Spurs though.
Postecoglou is using Odobert on the right in training
According to Football.London, Odobert primarily played on the right side in training this week, with the newcomer spotted scoring from Manor Solomon’s low crosses into the box.
Whether that is a sign of things to come remains to be seen, with the former Clarets star capable of operating in either flank or even the number ten role.
Spurs Web Opinion
Postecoglou gave Johnson the nod to start on Monday but the Wales international will struggle to keep his place in the side for the clash against Everton.
Dejan Kulusevski and Odobert are both tempting options for the Spurs head coach against Everton.
