Spurs are on fire

After a slightly unsure start to the season, Spurs have hit their stride of late and are looking more and more like the team Ange Postecoglou wants them to be.

The Lilywhites have now registered four wins in a row, secured back-to-back clean sheets away from home, and have been ruthless in front of goal, with Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke in particularly scintillating form.

Tottenham got off to a great start in the Europa League with a 3-0 win at home over Azerbaijan champions Qarabag last week, and will be looking to assert their status as one of the favourites to win the Europa League with another statement performance and result tomorrow night.

With the likes of Destiny Udogie and Radu Dragusin missing out through injury and suspension respectively, Postecoglou has explained why he has taken Sergio Reguilon with him as part of the squad.

Discussing the Spaniard’s inclusion, Postecoglou told Football.London: “Destiny hasn’t travelled. Nothing significant, but didn’t makes sense to bring him if he wasn’t going to play. Radu is suspended and Sonny is back in London doing rehab.

“Sergio [Reguilon] is a Tottenham player, that’s why he’s here. We like to have 20 players for training, we’ve also brought some young players. They had a game last night and we didn’t want to disrupt them too much.”

Ferencvaros should not be underestimated

Though the fixture may look like a simple one for Spurs on paper, it is worth noting Ferencvaros are currently three points clear at the top of the Hungarian league, with a game in hand.

They are unbeaten in eight games domestically this season, conceding just two goals in that period. Clearly, they will be a tough nut to crack for Spurs defensively, especially with a hostile Hungarian crowd on the night.

We have to win these games

Regardless of Ferencvaros’ current form and the resilient manner in which they play, a club like Spurs simply has to be winning these fixtures. These games against the likes of Qarabag, Ferencvaros, and Elfsborg, from the far inferior leagues across Europe, should be our bread and butter, and if we are really serious about winning the competition, we need to brush them aside.
