Moore and Lankshear handed starts

Postecoglou chose to name both Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore starts, which was a brave call from the Australian, considering that this was not a straightforward away fixture on paper.

Both teenagers repaid their manager’s faith, playing with confidence and not being fazed by the occasion or the difficult atmosphere.

While Moore was the one who stood out, Lankshear also had some bright moments and continued to make the Ferencvaros defenders work hard with his movement.

Lankshear delighted

The striker would have been disappointed not to find the back of the net, failing to get a clean connection from a Timo Werner cross in the first-half, before his volley just bounced over the crossbar in the second 45.

The 19-year-old has taken to Instagram to admit his pride at walking out of the tunnel in a Tottenham shirt and thanked the travelling fans for their support.

Big opportunity for Lankshear

With Richarlison not looking likely to be back in contention anytime soon, Lankshear could now get a run of matches in the Europa League and potentially even in the Carabao Cup.

Against Ferencvaros, the striker did struggle at times to cope with the pace at which the game was being played but he will only undoubtedly get better and feel more comfortable at this level once he gets a few more matches under his belt.
