Tottenham player could become ‘concrete’ target for Napoli
A Tottenham star, who continues to struggle for game time, could soon become a top target for one of the biggest clubs in Serie A.
Speculation continues over Tottenham defender
Many Spurs fans are probably tired of reading the constant reports from Italy linking Radu Dragusin with a move away from the club.
With the 22-year-old unlikely to break into Ange Postecoglou’s starting eleven anytime soon, the speculation shows no sign of slowing down at the moment.
Over the last few months, various reports from Italy have talked up the possibility of the centre-back returning to the Serie A, and the latest such update comes from journalist Niccolo Ceccarini.
Radu Dragusin could become a concrete target
Ceccarini writes in TuttoMercatoWeb that Dragusin’s move to Spurs has not worked out well for him, with the defender clocking less than 300 minutes for the Lilywhites this season.
He says that Napoli are keen on strengthening their backline and the Tottenham man could be an ‘opportunity’ for them in January.
The journalist says that for now, Dragusin is just an ‘idea’ for Antonio Conte’s side but he could become a ‘concrete hypothesis’ over the coming weeks.
However, he adds that ‘everything will depend’ on the Premier League club’s plans and that it is ‘essential to understand’ what Postecoglou’s plan is regarding the player before Napoli can push ahead with a move.
Tottenham not likely to entertain Dragusin offers
Dragusin is the only natural centre-back at Postecoglou’s disposal apart from Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. It thus seems far-fetched to imagine that Tottenham would entertain letting the Romanian leave the club mid-season.
However, if Dragusin ends up playing less than 20 games this season, the former Genoa man might seriously consider his options next summer.
