Tottenham now ‘pushing’ to sign Randal Kolo Muani – Journalist confirms
A big update has now emerged regarding the future of Randal Kolo Muani as Tottenham step up their pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain man.
Randal Kolo Muani is reportedly Tottenham’s top target
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed a couple of times that Spurs are looking to add reinforcements to their forward line, most recently doing so in his latest press conference on Tuesday.
Among the various names mooted as targets for Tottenham, Kolo Muani’s name has been mentioned most often over recent weeks, with a number of outlets claiming that the Lilywhites have even spoken to the Frenchman’s agent regarding a transfer.
David Ornstein even stated earlier this week that he has heard from his sources that Spurs have identified the 26-year-old as their top striker target for January.
Spurs pushing as Kolo Muani is given green light to leave
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now provided an update on Kolo Muani‘s future, revealing that PSG boss Luis Enrique has given the striker permission to leave.
He claims that the Parisians realise that a permanent sale may not be realistic this month and are thus trying to agree an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy in the summer.
The reporter adds that Spurs ‘are pushing’ to sign the former Eintracht Frankfurt man, but they are not alone, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Aston Villa still involved in the race.
Will Tottenham agree to an obligation to buy?
It was previously reported that PSG value Kolo Muani at £50m and it is thus reasonable to assume that the Ligue 1 giants would want the obligation to buy to be around that figure.
It remains to be seen if Tottenham would want to commit to paying such a steep fee for the forward in the summer, particularly given his poor record over the past 18 months in Paris.
Spurs may be asking for an option to buy that becomes an obligation if the striker makes a certain number of appearances in the second half of the campaign.
